Live Every Moment @ Scrap Africa

{My DT work for Scrap Africa}

Hello everyone! It's very hot and humid on my end. How is it like on the other side of your world? Nevertheless I wish you and your loved ones good times and great health.
Today I'm sharing a layout that took me some days to complete. Life just gets in the way sometimes, oh well.
Anyway, you still have about eight days to send your project based on the mood board to
Scrap Africa and stand a chance to win a prize.

Here's my layout:
 This lovely shabby and vintage mood board is created by Denise. I'm inspired by the vintage colors and shabbiness from torn edges as well as the blue grey ship and flowers to create my layout. What do you think?
 Some up-close pictures:
This is a very special and antique photo my mother keep in a box until today. She also keep our family photos in vintage albums. If you ask me, no, I don't know anything about the place we visited in 1973 because I was that baby in my mother's arm. My father was in the Malaysian Royal Navy and we moved constantly during his occupation. Thus he loved taking us to places whenever he could.
 I played with artist knife and modeling paste to create texture after I applied the paste through a stencil. This is when I left overnight to let dry because mojo escaped {pffft}. The following day I grab some watercolor paints and spray paints, filled up the spray bottle with water and started messy-ing it up; always my favorite part {chuckle}. Then came stamping the way they do at the post office...stamp, stamp and stamp it up until I was satisfied {happy smiles}.
 I used punch to make simple flowers with gems in the center. A handmade spiral rose is added for extra dimension adorn with black thread for interest.
 I cut out a chipboard to make window frame and cut the frame into two pieces to tuck under the photo after giving it a paste icing and watercolor paints.
 I'm a layer girl who loves bulky and details {giggle}. I always say the more the merrier.
That's it for today. Thank you for dropping by and can't wait to see your creation{s} at Mr Linky.

I wish to take my project into this lovely sketch challenge at ScrapMemory:
And also Splatter, Spritz and Smoosh challenge at Stamps and Stencils:
Until the morning after. Take care and have fun.

Hugs and smiles,
